Teeth In An Hour™: A Fast Alternative to Dental Implants in NYC

POSTED ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2013 AT 5:27 PM by Dr. Mark Stein

Have you been considering dental implants, but feel you don’t have the time to dedicate to the procedure? Traditional dental implants require many visits to your oral surgeon, and can take months to acquire the final result. Typically, patients must wait 3-6 months in order to allow the implants to bond securely to the jawbone. After the long wait, your surgeon will uncover the implants and attach small posts that will serve as healing abutments until the final replacement teeth are made. This long process isn’t always the best solution for your smile, especially when you need to see results FAST. NY Oral Surgeon, Dr. Mark Stein, offers Teeth In An Hour to eliminate the time consuming process of traditional implants!

The Teeth In An Hour procedure combines advanced surgical techniques with computer technology. Precise planning by our NYC Oral Surgeon with the help of CT scans and a surgical template ensure exact positioning of your implants before the procedure begins. Unlike traditional implants, the implants fit exactly into the surgical sites prepared for them, resulting in no need for healing time before the replacement teeth are put into the posts. The procedure is available for a single tooth replacement, or multiple replacements.

Candidates for Teeth In An Hour must have enough jawbone density to have the procedure performed, and in some cases extractions may be performed before having implants placed. Similar to dental implants, Teeth In An Hour look and feel like natural teeth. The fast procedure fits implants securely into your mouth and allows you to eat practically any foods! Teeth In An Hour is virtually painless and allows you to resume normal activities almost immediately; it requires no flaps or stitching. Plus, the procedure is finished in less than an hour!

If dental implants are not an option because of your lifestyle, Dr. Mark Stein can help repair your smile FAST with Teeth In An Hour™ in NY! Single Tooth Jaw Bone Graft Allows For Dental Implants in NYC

POSTED ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 14, 2013 AT 6:26 PM by Dr. Mark Stein

Statistics have shown that 69% of adults have lost at least one permanent tooth to an accident, gum disease, a failed root canal, or tooth decay. In time, when a tooth is lost or extracted, if nothing was put in place of the removed or lost tooth, the body will remold bone over the missing tooth area and create a thinner ridge of jawbone, making it harder to put a dental implant in place of the extracted tooth.

Oftentimes, your Oral Surgeon in NY will recommend having a single jawbone grafting procedure completed at the time of tooth extraction to prevent the jawbone from morphing and losing density for future implant.  NYC Oral Surgeon, Dr. Mark Stein, at New York Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, offers Jawbone grafting in NYC to replace the lost bone density to place a single dental implant.

Jawbone grafting requires bone, either synthetic or sterilized cadaver, to be placed in the empty area. The procedure is an advanced, effective and safe way to promote growth in the jawbone. The jawbone grafting procedure is similar to having a tooth removed. The discomfort, post-operative, is minimal.  It takes 3-4 months for the bone to fuse to your jawbone and for the membrane to cover over the bone, once healing is completed, a dental implant can be placed.

After regrowth, a dental implant in NYC can be placed in the empty spot. Dental implants look and feel like a natural tooth, allow you to eat any type of food, preserve facial structure, do not hinder your ability to speak clearly, and let you smile with confidence! Unlike dentures, dental implants do not shift or click during eating or talking. Dentures also require heavy maintenance, including removal at night, pastes and powders, and specific dietary choices. Dental implants are also a superior choice to bridgework, which damage adjoining teeth, and require a specific dietary choices..

Are you missing a tooth or been turned down for dental implants in the past? Dr. Mark Stein can help repair your smile with Jawbone Grafting in New York. Dental Implants NYC and Patient Care: A Day for Our Dentist

POSTED ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 14, 2012 AT 4:42 PM by Dr. Mark Stein

March celebrates National Dentists Day on March 6th every year, but what makes Mark Stein, D.D.S., M.D. at New York Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery different from any other oral surgery practice in New York is the care and attention he gives to every patient every day of the month. This relationship starts from the minute you call his office and extends through the surgery and to the phone call he makes the evening after your procedure.  Over the past 15 years, he has been able to develop techniques that give him the ability to perform complicated surgical procedures with little to no operative discomfort, leading to a quick recovery. One of the many surgical procedures he provides at New York Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is Dental Implants in New York City.

During the past 15 years, Dr. Mark Stein has placed over 5000 dental implants in NY, giving thousands of patients the ability to enjoy life and smile again. Dr. Stein has always been on the cutting edge of research and advancement in oral surgery. He incorporates these advancements into his practice, being one of the first in the United States to have an in office cone beam CT Scan. This machine allows Dr. Stein to diagnose and develop a treatment plan for dental implants in NYC with reduced radiation exposure to the patient and unprecedented precision.

In some cases, bone grafting and bone regeneration is necessary to build the bone density in the jaw before dental implants in New York can be performed. The times of taking bone from a patient’s hip or other body parts to restore lost bone in the mouth are long gone. Today, Dr. Stein is able to regenerate bone using the latest biological engineering called bone morphogenic  protein in NY, which he was involved with studying and testing in its development stages. This space age technology allows the patient to grow bone where it was almost impossible to do so before. We can actually grow new bone cells in the specific location on the jaw that it’s needed for dental implants in NY. Using bone morphogenic  protein in New York instead of traditional bone grafting eliminates the need for a donor site and makes the bone grafting procedure less invasive, involves less recovery time, and causes less risk during surgery. You can rest assured when you walk through our doors and trust Dr. Stein with the safety and beauty of your teeth that you’ll walk out with a healthier, brighter smile.

Celebrate National Dentists Day this March by maintaining excellent dental health because Dr. Mark Stein doesn’t need a specific day to care for you and your teeth. Dr.  Mark Stein, D.D.S., M.D. and his staff encourage patients to express any questions or concerns you may have about dental implants in New York City. You can contact us at our current and future New York office at 212.888.4760, or you may make an appointment online for a personal consultation with Dr. Stein.

Regenerating the Field of Dental Implants with Recombinant Human Bone Morphogenic Protein

POSTED ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2012 AT 6:03 PM by Dr. Mark Stein

Mark Stein, D.D.S., M.D. of New York Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Dental Implant Center was recently published in New York County Dental Society's 18th volume of Dentists’ Quarterly for his article on the newest technology available to help bone grafting and dental implants, the recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein in New York City. Dr. Stein’s article, “A New Approach to Reconstructing Difficult Maxillary Defect— Recombinant Human Bone Morphogenic Protein,” depicts an easier, less invasive, safer, and more efficient method of gaining enough bone support to anchor dental implants. Bone Morphogenic Protein (BMP) in NYC actually stimulates bone formation at the site in need of more bone support, circumventing the need for bone grafts in order to insert dental implants.

According to Mark Stein, D.D.S., M.D., dental professionals are leaning away from removable dentures and towards permanent dental implants as the first method of choice in order to repair missing teeth. Some patients, however, lack the necessary bone density to make dental implants a viable option. Until recently, bone grafting in NY was the standard procedure to improve a person’s bone density and prepare their jaw for dental implants in NY. Bone grafting, however, involves harvesting bone from a donor location, such as another location on the mouth or the hip, and transferring the harvested bone to the jaw. After bone grafting, patients must wait 4 to 9 months for the grafting site to heal before they may receive implants. This process was necessary to enhance bone density and was the only means to achieve more bone tissue in the needed area. With the advent of bone morphogenic protein in NY, oral surgeons, such as Mark Stein, D.D.S., M.D., can achieve more bone in the needed area by stimulating the bone itself to produce more bone cells.

Recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein Bone Graft in New York City is comprised of two active ingredients: a manmade protein found naturally in the body and an absorbable collagen sponge (ACS). The protein stimulates the formation of new bone, and the absorbable collagen sponge regulates when the protein is released over a period of time. The absorbable collagen sponge also acts as a trellis on which the newly stimulated bone may form, grow, and take shape. Eventually, the body absorbs the ACS with actual bone. Using bone morphogenic protein in NY instead of traditional bone grafting in New York to increase bone density completely eliminates the need for donor bone from a donor site. This method provides patients with an easier, less invasive procedure to ready the mouth for dental implants in New York.
